The lens quality did vary sometimes and the version with the black plastic A.O.- the lockring drops off -just crazy glue it back on. Bill Ackerman cleans and "blueprints" these for Benchrest competition. Unertl Optical Inc operates in Mars Pennsylvania 16046. The older American Weaver T-6 scopes are highly valued by hunter class shooters today. Unertl Optical Inc is generally involved in Gunsights Scopes & Mounts. Website: Scope Power Boosting & Reticle Changes When they were produced very little formal Schuetzen was shot.Scope repair for Redfield, Weaver, Unertl, and other Scopes. Much as I like Unertl’s and even though they are allowed In ASSRA traditional class they are not period correct on a 44 1/2 Ballard or High Wall. And the designs vintage fits nicely with a turn of the century Schuetzen rifle. Even it it does have problems MVA will fix it. However when wanting a period correct Reproduction outfit, CPA Rifle Schuetzen stocked, went with the MVA B 5. Optical quality design and workmanship on a Unertl can’t be improved on. Having said that I have never lost money selling a Unertl & some were priced high when I bought them. Or paying too much, some are way overpriced snipers mostly. Only couple ways to go wrong on one, poor condition needing repair, and few people that can do the work, none fast. Current have two Unertl spotters 24圆3mm and a switch eyepiece 100mm Team, rifle scopes 12 x target & 3 x small game. I like optics and have owned most of the names, including half a dozen Unertl’s. Conditions so bad open-sight shooters could not see the targets at all. And some days with fog, smoke and wet banks have been pretty darn bad. I haven't made any comparison but there has never been a day with conditions so bad that I could not see the target well enough to hit it with accuracy. These scopes may have used anti-reflective coatings that were available back in their day but I think their clarity about matches the scopes of today's production. The adjusters can also be de-clicked by two different methods (DZ Arms come already de-clicked). No other scope manufacture, other than I think DZ Arms, produces these type of turret adjusters. I think this is the shortest, lightest scope when compared to the other new scopes being used. These scopes are 18.25" long and 7/8" diameter at the end-bells.

The scope still returns to the same position when I make changes with the adjusters. Have used the same scope in competition for at least 10 years, maybe more. I use a Unertl Small Game scope in 6x in BPCR Silhouette competition.
